King Mswati’s Brief Romance with New Wife Sparks Palace Drama!

King Mswati, a polygamist and absolute monarch, is said to have spent only three months with his new wife, Inkhosikati Nomcebo LaZuma, before shifting his attention to his other wives.

This news follows reports by Swaziland News that the daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma left the palace, expressing frustration over not seeing her husband for extended periods. The story was later picked up by other reputable South African and global media outlets.

King Mswati’s spokesperson, Percy Simelane, stated that he focuses on the King’s public image, not his personal life, and therefore was unaware of the situation between the King and his new wife. “By design and principle, my office does not extend into the King’s private life; only his public life is my concern,” Simelane said.

However, royal insiders revealed that the King typically focuses on a new wife until she becomes pregnant, but with Nomcebo Zuma, this attention lasted only about three months. Sources noted that she was reportedly very upset, even accusing her bodyguards of stealing her jewelry, which was later found. “It was clear that the polygamous marriage was frustrating for her as she wanted to be with her husband full-time,” one insider shared.

A close friend of Nomcebo mentioned that she might speak to Swaziland News once she has “healed” from what she called a painful experience in the royal palace.

It has also been reported that a royal delegation has been trying to meet with Jacob Zuma in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal, but he has declined, stating he was initially against the marriage, although he eventually accepted it due to his daughter’s insistence.

King Mswati is known to have over fourteen wives and more than fifty children.
