Kenyan University Bans Mini-Skirts,Dreadlocks & Plaited Hair

A Kenyan University owned by the Methodist church has issued a statement with regards a new dress code for their students both male and female.

According to a notice making rounds on social media, the new dress code bans male students from having dreadlocks, plaited hair, wearing earrings, hats, caps and vests that show their chests.

For female students, the new regulation bans wearing mini skirts, bare backs, see through clothes, body tight trousers, tumbo cut.

The statement made it clear that this was done in the best interest of lectures and the learning environment which permits sober minded behaviours.

The penalty for those who break the “appropriately dressing”  law will be banned from the school’s premises and attending lectures.

Last year, the University of Lusaka in Zambia, one in Uganda and a Poytechnic in Zimbabwe issued issued same letters to students with regards a ban in fancy dress codes.
