Kadoma fuel station drama: Makiwa remanded for theft, firearm threats
KAROI – Baureni Blessing Makiwa (52) from Clevdon Farm in Kadoma has been remanded in custody until October 9, 2024, pending a mental health examination following allegations of theft, firearm threats and intimidation.
Makiwa appeared before the Karoi Magistrates’ Court facing charges of theft and contravening the Firearms Act.
It is the State’s case that on September 28, 2024, the accused person allegedly drove his Mercedes Benz to a Kadoma fuel station,purchased fuel and failed to pay USD 90. Later, he threatened a fuel attendant at another station, pulling out a live round after his demand for fuel was declined.
It is alleged that Makiwa’s actions escalated further as he proceeded to a local restaurant, where he placed another live round on the counter, on top of a “Crime Eliminator” T-shirt and threatened the owner.
After the altercation, he handed himself over to the police.
Upon surrendering, police searched the accused person’s car and found eight live rounds which led to his arrest.
