Influencer Gets 10 Years for Wild Murder-for-Hire Plot
Texas influencer Ashley Grayson, once a rising star on social media, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for orchestrating a chilling murder-for-hire scheme targeting her ex-boyfriend and two business rivals. The 35-year-old was convicted in March 2024, with her sentencing finalized on October 31. She will also serve three years of probation after her release.
Prosecutors revealed that the plot began in 2021 amid a spiraling feud with a Mississippi business owner who allegedly trashed Grayson’s business online.
Grayson later roped in a Memphis couple, offering them $60,000 to eliminate her ex-boyfriend, the Mississippi rival, and a Texas woman who criticized her online. Recorded evidence showed Grayson upping the payout by $5,000 for a quick hit. Influencer Gets 10 Years for Wild Murder-for-Hire Plot
The scheme unraveled when the hitmen duped Grayson with a staged failure, collecting partial payment before exposing the plan. Though no physical harm occurred, U.S. Attorney Reagan Fondren emphasized the severe emotional toll on the victims.
Grayson’s descent from influencer fame to criminal infamy underscores the dangerous extremes of online rivalries turned real-world threats.
