Illegal “Liquid BBL” Claims Influencer’s Life as Provider Faces Jail
Model dies from illegal ‘liquid BBL’ — what to know about the risky procedure that left Cardi B in the ‘craziest pain ever’

A dangerous cosmetic procedure known as a “liquid BBL” is back in the news after a woman in Florida was convicted in March for her role in the death of a model in 2023.
The victim, 34-year-old Christina Ashten Gourkani, who was known online as Ashten G and had over 600,000 Instagram followers, died after receiving an illegal silicone injection to enhance her body.
The procedure was allegedly carried out by Vivian Alexandra Gomez, who has now been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license. She could face up to seven years in prison.
The case has raised fresh concerns about unsafe cosmetic procedures, especially illegal injections.
US rapper Cardi B has previously spoken about her own experience with illegal injections, describing the pain as extreme and risky.
Experts warn that while some Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures done by licensed doctors can be safer, illegal “liquid BBLs” using silicone injections are highly dangerous and can lead to serious health complications or death.
