‘I was Tormented!’—DJ Fantan’s Ex-Wife Speaks Out After Fleeing Zim

Gamuchirai Nemukuyu, the ex-wife of Chillspot Records producer DJ Fantan, has accused the Zimdancehall hitmaker of harassment, saying she had no choice but to flee Zimbabwe with their two children.
Nemukuyu, who vanished last week with Rufaro Kamudyariwa (6) and Ruvheneko Kamudyariwa (5), has resurfaced in South Africa, claiming she left to escape Fantan’s persistent abuse.
“I left the country because of how my ex-husband was treating me.
“I couldn’t take the frustration and the torture that I got every day,” she told Nehanda Radio.
Her disappearance triggered a desperate search by Fantan, who took to social media to ask for their whereabouts, but Nemukuyu says her actions were a necessity, not a crime.
She accused Fantan of invading her privacy through excessive calls at odd hours, despite their separation.
“I was tormented. He would call in the middle of the night, call early in the morning, and act as if he wanted to check the welfare of the kids,” she said.
One particular call left her questioning Fantan’s motives.
“At one time he called me around 6 AM and said, ‘Do you want to help the kids with homework?’ Who does that? Who calls someone at six?”
Nemukuyu further alleged that Fantan would show up at her home unannounced, using their children as an excuse to pick fights.
“He would come and say, ‘I’m coming from the gym, I just want to check up on the kids,’ and then start arguments for no reason,” she claimed.
The Chillspot boss has yet to respond to these allegations, but Nemukuyu insists she was left with no option but to leave.
Addressing their failed marriage, she dismissed claims that she was bitter over their breakup.
“Fantan ended the marriage with me. I was hurt, and I cried, but I never went to his new marriage to cause drama, nor have I come on social media to say stuff about him after he broke up with me,” she said.
While Fantan continues his search for answers, Nemukuyu appears to have closed that chapter of her life—for good.
