“I Made History!” – Woman Throws Party After Becoming First in Her Community to Board a Plane – A woman named Gold Ike is being celebrated online after proudly declaring herself the first woman in her community to travel by airplane.
Her excitement didn’t end at the airport—she threw a full-blown party to mark the occasion.
On Sunday, April 6, Gold hosted a gathering in her hometown, inviting neighbors, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate what she called a historic personal achievement.
A large banner was printed for the event, boldly stating: “The first woman to enter aeroplane in my community.”
“I wanted everyone to know that dreams are valid, no matter how small they may seem to others,” Gold said during the celebration.
“In our community, very few people have even seen an airport, let alone flown. I wanted to inspire the young girls to know that anything is possible.”
Photos and videos from the event quickly went viral after she posted them on Facebook.
In a clip shared four days earlier, Gold is seen beaming with pride as she poses in front of an airplane, captioning the moment with heartfelt gratitude.

Guests at the party took turns snapping photos with the now-famous banner, some even dancing and singing to traditional tunes. One attendee said, “We’re proud of her. She brought joy to the whole village. It’s not every day someone from here flies in a plane.”
While some online reactions have been mixed, many users praised Gold’s unapologetic celebration of what she views as a major milestone. “It’s not about where you’re going, it’s about how far you’ve come,” another commenter wrote.
