“I Don’t Care, People Can Say What they Want,” Says Amorim After Newcastle United Defeats Man U 4-1

Newcastle United dominated Manchester United with a 4-1 victory, moving up to fourth place in the Premier League and achieving their first league double over the Red Devils since the 1930s.

In the second half, Harvey Barnes scored twice, while Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes also found the net.

This win puts Newcastle ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea, bringing them closer to a Champions League spot for next season.

Despite manager Eddie Howe being in the hospital, Newcastle started strong. Tonali opened the scoring with a volley from Alexander Isak’s assist. Alejandro Garnacho equalized before halftime, but Barnes quickly scored two goals after the break.

According to a report by The Independent, Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, chose to rest goalkeeper Andre Onana after his mistakes against Lyon, but Altay Bayindir made a critical error, allowing Guimaraes to score Newcastle’s fourth goal.

Manchester United remains in 14th place, and their season now depends on Thursday’s Europa League second leg against Lyon. Joshua Zirkzee may be unavailable after suffering a hamstring injury in the second half.

Addressing the criticism, Amorim said, “I understand but I don’t care. Nothing is worse than losing games. People can say what they want. Our position in the table speaks for itself. Thursday is really important. Losing is the hardest part of this job. Let’s focus on Thursday.”
