Hollywood Action Legend Chuck Norris Dies at 86 – Renowned American martial artist and actor Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86, his family has confirmed.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the family said they were announcing his passing “with heavy hearts,” describing him as a man who lived with faith, purpose and deep love for those closest to him.
Norris rose to global fame through his role in the hit television series Walker, Texas Ranger and his appearance in the martial arts classic The Way of the Dragon, where he famously faced off against martial arts icon Bruce Lee.

Born Carlos Ray Norris in Oklahoma, United States, in 1940, he joined the US Air Force as a teenager. It was during his deployment in South Korea that he began training in martial arts, eventually earning a black belt and becoming a karate champion in the 1960s.
His acting breakthrough came after meeting Bruce Lee, leading to their iconic fight scene in The Way of the Dragon, a moment that remains one of the most memorable in martial arts cinema.
Norris later starred in a string of successful action films including Missing in Action, Delta Force and Code of Silence, cementing his status as a Hollywood action star.
He gained even wider recognition for his role as Cordell Walker in Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired from 1993 to 2001 and attracted a global audience.
His final major film appearance came in The Expendables 2.
Beyond acting, Norris was a passionate advocate for fitness and established martial arts training schools. In later years, he also became a pop culture icon through viral “Chuck Norris facts” memes, which humorously exaggerated his strength and toughness.
Paying tribute, his family said:
“Through his work, discipline and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.
“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and the heart of our family.”
