Hearse Destroyed By Fire As Mourners Rescue Coffin In Harare – A funeral hearse belonging to Vadzidzi vaJeso Funeral Parlour was destroyed by fire in Ardbennie, Harare, yesterday while transporting a coffin to a burial in the deceased’s rural home.
The vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Stuart Muyewa, was travelling along Boshoff Drive when it caught fire, forcing mourners to act quickly.

With the help of passing motorists, the mourners managed to remove the coffin containing their relative’s body before the hearse was completely engulfed by flames. The coffin was later taken to the nearby Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The hearse was completely burnt out in the incident.
Witnesses said the Fire Brigade arrived after the vehicle had already been reduced to ashes.
