Haaland Signs Long-Term Contract with Manchester City Until 2034

Erling Haaland, the striker for Manchester City, has signed a new long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2034. He joined City from Dortmund in 2022 and has scored 111 goals in 126 games since then.

His old contract was set to end in 2027 and included a release clause. With this new deal, Haaland will stay with City until he is 34 years old, if he stays for the entire time.

“I’m really happy to sign my new contract and to spend more time at this great club,” Haaland said. He described Manchester City as a special place with wonderful fans and great people, which helps players do their best.

Haaland also thanked manager Pep Guardiola, the coaching staff, and his teammates for their support over the last few years.

Txiki Begiristain, City’s director of football, said that Haaland’s long contract shows the club’s commitment to him and his love for City. This signing comes after Guardiola also signed a new two-year contract.

Haaland’s new deal is now the longest in the Premier League, longer than Cole Palmer’s nine-year deal with Chelsea from last August. Since moving to City, Haaland has helped the team win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League, and the Super Cup.

This season, he has scored 21 goals in 28 games. However, City is currently 12 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League, having played one extra game.

Haaland’s new contract comes as Manchester City waits for the outcome of a case about possible rule violations in the Premier League. The club has denied the 115 charges against them, which could lead to serious penalties.
