Gwekwerere Confirms He Beat Wife As Marriage Collapses

Gwekwerere Confirms He Beat Wife As Marriage Collapses – Former Dynamos striker Evans Gwekwerere has confirmed that his marriage to Natasha Kaira Green has broken down following a domestic dispute linked to allegations of infidelity.

Speaking about the incident, Gwekwerere said the altercation occurred on March 15 after he allegedly discovered messages on his wife’s phone suggesting she was involved in an extra-marital affair.

“Yes, I had a fallout with my wife because she was having an affair with a boyfriend while she was married to me,” said Gwekwerere.

According to H Metro, he admitted that the disagreement escalated into violence, saying he reacted in anger after learning about the alleged affair.

“I was angry with her and that is why I reacted the way I did but it wouldn’t have happened if she had not cheated,” he said.

According to the former Warriors forward, Natasha later left their matrimonial home together with their children and household property. He also confirmed that the matter was reported to the police.

“She reported me to the police but she is the one who started all this with her actions,” he said.

The couple’s separation comes less than two years after Gwekwerere paid lobola for Natasha in July 2024. At the time, the former footballer had reportedly received US$17,000 from Dynamos following a payment dispute involving outstanding salaries and allowances.

After settling the lobola process, the couple travelled to South Africa for their honeymoon, spending time in Gauteng and staying at the luxury Blyde Riverwalk Estate in Pretoria.

Sources close to the couple previously indicated that family pressures over the lobola issue had created tension in the relationship before the formalities were eventually completed.

Meanwhile, Natasha was previously ordered by the High Court to pay US$1 million in damages following claims that she had been involved in an adulterous relationship with Gwekwerere while he was still married to his first wife, Makanyara Mafunga.

Court documents filed by Mafunga stated that she married Gwekwerere under the Marriages Act on November 1, 2020, and that the union was still legally valid at the time the alleged affair began.
