Government Conducts DNA Tests to Identify Seven Children in SA Bus Crash – Zimbabwean and Malawian authorities have begun DNA testing to identify seven minors among the 43 victims of the deadly South African bus crash that occurred near Louis Trichardt (Makhado).
The DNC bus, carrying 68 passengers — including three crew members — was travelling from Port Elizabeth to Harare when it plunged off a cliff along the N1 highway on Sunday.

Deputy Director of the Civil Protection Unit (CPU), Veronica Bare, confirmed that 20 post-mortems had already been completed, with the remaining expected by Friday.
“We have arranged a bus which has left with six family members to assist with the identification of the remaining eight bodies in South Africa,” she said.
Bare added that the Government was covering accommodation, meals, and medical bills for all affected families.
“We have established two command centres at Beitbridge and Makhado to coordinate logistics,” she said, adding that Doves Funeral Services will repatriate the bodies once documentation is complete.
