Police indicated that during interrogation, Kresi allegedly admitted involvement in a robbery and revealed that one of the firearms used in the crime had been hidden at his residence in Yerezori.
He also reportedly disclosed that a second weapon, along with stolen cash and mobile phones, was in the possession of an accomplice identified only as “Berra.”
In a police situational report, authorities stated that at approximately 3:40am, Kresi was being escorted to his residence to recover the weapon.
While travelling along a road between Larabanga and Mognori, the suspect, who was seated in the rear of the police vehicle with two officers, allegedly jumped out of the moving vehicle.
“He fell to the ground and became unconscious,” the report noted.
Kresi was rushed to St. Ann’s Hospital in Damongo, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body has since been placed in the hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
Subsequent efforts by officers from the Regional Police Intelligence
