Harare’s Dynamos FC is facing a significant setback in its preparations for the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final against Manica Diamonds, scheduled for Sunday.
Players refused to participate in a training session yesterday morning, citing issues related to unpaid winning bonuses and signing-on fees.
The defending champions are set to host the Gem Boys at Rufaro Stadium, while last season’s runners-up, Ngezi Platinum Stars, will welcome Simba Bhora at the Baobab.
Despite arriving at Alex Sports Club for their scheduled training, the Dynamos players chose not to engage in practice.
An anonymous player revealed to Soccer24 that the team has not received any winning bonuses since the start of the second half of the season, with some players still awaiting their signing-on fees.
“This is why we decided not to train today,” the player stated. The situation raises concerns about the team’s morale and readiness as they approach a critical match in the tournament.
