Dorcas Moyo named Africa’s Best Female Artiste at Clima Awards.

Zimbabwean gospel artists Dorcas Moyo and Everton Mlalazi received significant recognition at the Christian Legendary and Impact Makers Awards (Clima) last weekend.

Mlalazi won three awards, including Africa Best Male Artiste and the Africa Gospel Music Viewers Choice Award. His wife and manager, Pretty, received the honor of Best Manager in Africa.

Mlalazi joyfully stated, “Being recognized among Africa’s giants shows that our music is reaching new heights.”

He explained that nominations are based on performances in their home country, followed by public voting. He thanked fans, especially those from Zimbabwe, for their support.

“My music is authentically Zimbabwean, and I want the world to experience it,” he added.

Dorcas Moyo won the title of Africa’s Best Female Artiste, surpassing competitors like Mercy Chinwo and Yadah. She highlighted her win as a testament to the growth of the Zimbabwean arts industry.

“This shows that Zimbabweans can compete at any level,” she stated.

Moyo plans to produce several music videos and aims to release a new single before the year ends, with an album expected in early 2025.

The Clima awards celebrate African artists, with this year’s theme, “The Rebirth,” promoting values of recognition, appreciation, and unity among Christian talents across the continent.
