Doctor Jailed for Hiding Spycams to Secretly Record Other Men in Bathrooms & Compare His Manh00d

Doctor Jailed for Hiding Spycams to Secretly Record Other Men in Bathrooms & Compare His Manh00d – A Scottish doctor has been jailed for 18 months after admitting he secretly recorded people using the toilet and shower—claiming he did so to compare his own gen!tals with other men.
Ju Young Um, a 34-year-old anaesthetist, was found guilty of 23 charges in April following a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
On Thursday, the Crown Office confirmed his sentence, which includes an additional nine months of supervised licence after release and 10 years on the s£x offenders register.
The offences, which occurred between November 2020 and August 2024, involved the covert filming of 30 victims—21 men and 9 women, four of whom were fellow doctors.
The incidents took place at Um’s rented Airbnb in Glasgow’s Hyndland area and at staff accommodation in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
One of the victims became suspicious after spotting two air fresheners unusually pointed toward the toilet and shower.
Upon closer inspection, miniature spy cameras were discovered inside the containers. A third device was later found concealed in a smoke alarm.
The victim alerted the police, who seized the cameras along with Um’s mobile phone, laptop, and storage devices.
Authorities uncovered disturbing footage of numerous individuals in private settings, including toilets and showers.

Procurator Fiscal Fraser Gibson stated: “Ju Young Um carried out these invasive offences in a calculated and premeditated manner. He abused a position of trust to significantly violate the privacy of numerous individuals for his own sexual gratification.”
“We will continue to take action against those responsible for this type of offending as we strive to keep the communities we serve safe,” Gibson added.
In court, Um claimed he was diagnosed with suspected gigantism as a teenager and believed he had a small penis, which led to body dysmorphia.
“That may be why I wanted to compare myself to others,” he admitted during testimony. Despite his explanation, he acknowledged his actions were “morally wrong” and caused “harm and distress”.
According to the court, his first victim was secretly filmed through a window while showering.
He then escalated to placing a camera in a smoke detector in a fellow doctor’s bedroom and, later, bathroom air fresheners.
One of the doctors filmed said he felt “shocked and betrayed” after discovering he had been recorded using the toilet following a dinner at Um’s home. Another victim was filmed nine times over three months.
Sheriff Owen Mullan said a custodial sentence was warranted due to the “shock and distress suffered by the victims.”
Detective Sergeant Cameron Gilchrist of Police Scotland emphasized: “Ju Young Um now faces the consequences of his despicable and distressing actions. Our thoughts remain with his victims, who had their privacy violated.”
“S£xual crime of any nature is not to be tolerated,” he said. “We will thoroughly investigate all reports, regardless of when they occur, and ensure victims are fully supported.”
