DJ Yugoe Teams Up With Tahle WeDzinza For Afro-House Anthem ‘Joy To The City’
Plumtree-based DJ Yugoe has teamed up with Harare-based singer Tahle WeDzinza for the release of Joy To The City, a high-energy Afro-House single unveiled on Thursday, July 31.
Driven by percussive rhythms and Tahle WeDzinza’s soulful vocals, the track delivers a vibrant message of joy and emotional upliftment.
Its visuals shot in Bulawayo by Afri Art Entertainment Company, capture the song’s spirited energy through colourful cityscapes.
The single is now streaming on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, and YouTube.
This collaboration aligns with DJ Yugoe’s broader strategy to grow his fan base by working with artists from various cities across Zimbabwe.
“Joy To The City is a powerful and uplifting Afro-House track about being intentional with joy and spreading it wherever life leads us. Layered with percussive grooves and vibrant melodies, it is a song that belongs both on the dancefloor and in moments of personal reflection,” he said.
The project is supported by the British Council’s #SouthernAfricaArts initiative and the Embassy of Switzerland in Zimbabwe under the Music Connects Africa programme.
DJ Yugoe said that his admiration for Tahle WeDzinza’s voice inspired the partnership.
“Joy is contagious. Through music, we can uplift, heal, and bring light into our spaces. I have always admired Tahle’s voice, and when I created the instrumental, I felt that she was the perfect fit. I reached out, and she loved it. We got into the studio, and Joy To The City was born,” he said.
The single represents a major step in DJ Yugoe’s pursuit of elevating Afro-House across Zimbabwe, blending regional talent with universal themes of celebration and emotional healing.
