Diddy Denied Bail Again Amid Serious Charges
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail for the third time by a judge in New York City. Two previous judges also refused to release him, citing concerns about possible witness tampering, which they see as a serious risk before his trial scheduled for May 2025.
Combs is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, facing serious charges that include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution.
He has pleaded not guilty and denies over two dozen sexual assault claims made against him in various civil lawsuits.
In his ruling, US District Judge Arun Subramanian referenced evidence suggesting that Combs attempted to tamper with witnesses and violated prison rules. The judge stated that the court could not trust Combs to be released on bail, highlighting the risk to community safety.
Prosecutors opposed bail, pointing to Combs’s misconduct while in custody. They accused him of using jail communications to influence witnesses and of trying to sway public opinion in his favor through social media.
Combs’s defense team argued that he should be released to prepare for his upcoming trial. They previously presented a $50 million bail package, which included house arrest and restrictions on female visitors, but this was rejected by the court.
In a recent development, the judge ordered prosecutors to destroy nearly 20 pages of documents taken during a search of Combs’s jail cell, which included notes to his lawyers. Prosecutors claim these documents are not protected due to Combs’s alleged actions.
Numerous civil lawsuits have been filed against Combs, accusing him of coercion and abuse, including claims involving minors. Combs has strongly denied all accusations and is actively fighting the charges against him.
