Deadly Gift? Chicken brought by former son-in-law tied to tragic deaths
CHIMANIMANI – A traditional healer’s son and grandson died within three days of each other in Chimanimani, after coming into contact with a chicken left behind by a former son-in-law, fueling speculation about the cause of the sudden deaths.
Residents are still reeling in shock, grappling to make sense of the tragedy that has left a trail of fear, confusion and sadness.
According to eyewitnesses, the chicken was abandoned by the former son-in-law after a bitter fallout with the family. Tragedy struck shortly after, claiming the life of the traditional healer’s son, followed by the devastating loss of his young grandson just 72 hours later.
Rumors are rife in the community, with some convinced that the chicken was bewitched or used in a dark ritual by the former son-in-law as an act of revenge.
