Cricket: Zimbabwe U-19s Clinch Fourth Victory Against Ireland – Zimbabwe’s Under-19 cricket team continued their dominant run in the ongoing youth ODI series, registering their fourth consecutive win against Ireland U-19s with a composed six-wicket victory at Harare Sports Club.
Ireland won the toss and opted to bat first, putting up a competitive 242/6 in their 50 overs. The visitors were anchored by a gritty 88 from Adam Leckey and a solid 62 from Sebastian Dijkstra.
Despite their efforts, the Zimbabwean bowlers kept things tight, with economical spells from Simbarashe Mudzengerere (1/28 in 10 overs) and Ambitious Muduma (1/17 in 6 overs).
Michael Blignaut, Kirby Madharamete, Brandon Senzere, and Marshal Mashava also picked up a wicket apiece.
In response, the Young Chevrons put on a well-calculated chase.
Opening batsman Leeroy Chiwaula was the backbone of the innings with a patient 77 off 99 balls, featuring four boundaries and three sixes.
He was well supported by captain Simbarashe Mudzengerere, who added 37 runs.

The chase gained momentum when Michael Blignaut played an impressive knock of 60* from 58 balls, striking seven fours and a six to take Zimbabwe home with 25 balls to spare. Brandon Senzere’s brisk 38 off 28 further eased the pressure as Zimbabwe reached 243/4 in 45.5 overs.
The win means Zimbabwe now leads the five-match Youth ODI series 4-0, continuing their fine form on home soil. The match also saw YODI debuts for Kirby Madharamete, Marshal Mashava, Rowyn Konson, and Samuel Muyambo — all of whom made notable contributions.
The series wraps up with the final match, where Ireland will hope to salvage pride, while Zimbabwe aim for a clean sweep.
