ConCourt throws out katsimberis’s court application
HARARE – Property developer George Katsimberis yesterday suffered a major blow after the Constitutional Court dismissed his application seeking to declare his trial at the lower courts unfair.
According to court papers, Katsimberis’s trial has been marred by controversy, with the State accusing him of using delaying tactics.
During the course of the trial, Katsimberis filed several court applications, including a request for a Greek interpreter, which was dismissed by the State.
Katsimberis had also filed an application for then-prosecutor Michael Reza, now the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission chairperson, to testify in the case he was prosecuting.
However, the application was dismissed, and Katsimberis’s subsequent appeals to the High Court and Supreme Court were also unsuccessful.
The case has sparked widespread interest, with many calling for greater accountability in the handling of high-profile cases.
As the trial against Katsimberis continues, many will be watching closely to see how the case unfolds.
