Church Mourns Mwazha’s Century of Spiritual Leadership

…tributes pour in for fallen spiritual icon

Church leaders from across Zimbabwe and beyond have continued to mourn the late Archbishop Paul Mwazha of Africa, praising his spiritual influence, endurance and century-long service to the Christian community.

In a stream of statements and interviews, leaders described Mwazha as a towering figure whose ministry shaped generations of believers and church founders.

Apostle Stephen Mangwanya of the New United Apostolic Faith Church said Mwazha’s impact was unmatched in modern evangelism.

“We have lost a good evangelist who touched many lives and brought them to Christ,” he said.

“He has been a mentor to countless leaders and a beacon of wisdom and courage. We mourn the departure of a true leader in the body of Christ.”

Madzibaba Moses Gwasarira of Johanne Masowe said Mwazha’s legacy stretched far beyond denominational lines.

“Archbishop Mwazha’s influence spanned the continent, mentoring senior leaders who now carry forward his legacy,” he said.

“His commitment and zeal were unwavering. His leadership and resilience are examples for us all. We have truly lost a spiritual hero.”

Apostle Benjamin Joseph Murata of the New Life Pentecost Church framed Mwazha’s passing within scripture.

“As it is written in Isaiah 57… the devout are taken away to be spared from evil,” he said.

“This scripture resonates with the passing of faithful individuals like Archbishop Mwazha. Such leaders are vital in guiding communities toward peace and prosperity.”

Goodness and Mercy Ministries leader Prophet Tapiwa Freddy urged unity within the African Apostolic Church following Mwazha’s death.

“It is our prayer to see the continuity of his ministry, unity among his members and adherence to the teachings he imparted,” he said.

Prophetess Memory Matimbire of Daughters of Virtue (DOV) said Mwazha’s life represented steadfast obedience to God.

“We have lost a general of God…to the whole of Africa, he was a general, never compromising what God directed him to do.

“The hand of God was proved through him in living more than 100 years… Life cannot be bought; God was with him,” she said.
