Chiredzi Police Hunt for Woman Accused in Teen’s Fatal Pregnancy Case
CHIREDZI – The Zimbabwe Republic Police appeal for public assistance to locate Chipo Mulauzi, a 45-year-old woman wanted in connection with the death of a 15-year-old girl.
The teenager passed away on March 9, 2025, at a local hospital in Chiredzi.
According to the statement posted on the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Twitter account, the girl’s death was linked to a concoction provided by Mulauzi to terminate her pregnancy, which reportedly resulted from sexual abuse.
After consuming the concoction, the girl’s health rapidly declined, leading to her hospitalization. Despite medical efforts, she tragically passed away due to complications from the unsafe procedure.
Police are urging anyone with information about Mulauzi’s whereabouts to report to the nearest station. Authorities have assured that all details provided will be treated with strict confidentiality.
This incident has sparked widespread outrage, calls for justice and heightened awareness of the dangers of unsafe practices, particularly for vulnerable individuals.
