Chipinge Man Gets 30 Years for Brutal Triple Rape and Death Threats

In a horrifying case that shocked the community, a 21-year-old man from Farm 40 Compound in Middle Sabi, Chipinge, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping a woman three times and threatening her life.

The grim events unfolded on November 9, 2024, at around 11 PM when the man barged into the complainant’s home, demanding money. Upon learning she had none, he turned violent, breaking a bottle and assaulting her.

The attacker then forced her to a nearby bush, where he raped her three times, disregarding her cries and the fact that she was menstruating.

The victim, battered and traumatized, reported the attack to the police the following day. Officers launched an investigation and arrested the perpetrator on November 12 during a raid at his residence.

The complainant suffered multiple injuries, including lacerations on her body, and bruises on her toes, elbows, and knees.

The Chipinge Magistrates’ Court handed the man a 15-year sentence for each count of rape. Counts 1 and 2 will run concurrently, with an effective jail term of 30 years. The ruling sends a stern warning against gender-based violence in the community.
