Chelsea Clinch Inaugural Club World Cup Title Under Enzo Maresca’s Leadership – Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has described his side’s triumph in the inaugural edition of FIFA’s revamped Club World Cup as a “great triumph,” equating its significance with that of the UEFA Champions League.
The Blues claimed a commanding 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s final, underlining their dominance on the global stage.
Speaking after the historic win, Maresca expressed pride in lifting the trophy, which comes just months after Chelsea secured the UEFA Conference League title in May.
“I genuinely believe this competition will grow to be as prestigious, if not more so, than the Champions League,” Maresca remarked. “It brings together the best clubs from across the world, and to emerge victorious is a testament to the work we’ve put in. Having previously been part of Manchester City’s backroom staff during their 2023 Champions League-winning campaign, Maresca now has his own major managerial accolade, just one year into his Chelsea tenure.
