According to the cleric, the Church teaches that the commandment is rooted in “holiness, chastity, fidelity and the proper use of human s£xuality according to God’s design.”
He wrote: “The Church does not reduce this commandment merely to adultery between married people. It covers the entire moral life of human s£xuality: thoughts, desires, actions, relationships, marriage, modesty, dignity of the body, and respect for persons.”
Among the practices Fr. Ugwu listed as sins under the commandment were lust, p0rn0graphy, f0rnication, adultery, prostitution, s£xual abuse of minors, r@pe, incest and s£xual exploitation.
He also included m@sturbation, contraception, homos£xual acts and artificial reproductive practices such as IVF.
On contraception, he stated: “Artificial actions intended to prevent conception during s£xual intercourse. This also includes pills, sterilization and cond0m.”
Regarding artificial reproductive technology, he added: “The church is against IVF, sperm donation, surrogacy, embryo destruction.”
The priest further stressed that the Church considers s£xual abuse of minors to be “a grave evil and crime.”
