Budiriro Man Wins Protection Order After Wife’s Shocking Betrayal

A Budiriro man has been granted a protection order at the Harare Civil Court after a devastating revelation that the two children he raised for nearly 20 years were not his biological offspring.

Daniel Mwashaireni told Magistrate Johanna Mukwesha that his wife, Linda Jena, subjected him to relentless emotional and physical abuse after he uncovered the painful truth.

“I was betrayed beyond words,” Mwashaireni said.

“I sacrificed everything, believing I was raising my own children. I paid their fees, clothed them, and loved them deeply only to find out I was living a lie.”

Mwashaireni accused Jena of using threats, violence, and emotional blackmail to force him into paying US$700 monthly for the children’s upkeep, despite the betrayal.

He described years of suspicion, noting the children’s lack of resemblance and his wife’s evasive explanations.

“She turned violent, called me worthless, and even sent boys to harass me at home. She is punishing me for daring to seek the truth,” he added.

Despite it all, Mwashaireni insists his anger is directed at Jena, not the children, saying he still cares for them but refuses to finance “a lie.”

According to The Herald, Jena denied the abuse allegations, arguing that Mwashaireni owed her and the children continued support for the lifestyle they shared.

She insisted the children saw him as their father and that she had nowhere else to go.

The court ultimately ruled in Mwashaireni’s favor, granting the protection order and urging both parties to seek counselling to address their deep-seated issues.
