Police in Maphisa have arrested a man accused of murdering his younger brother in a violent axe attack following a dispute over a failed marriage.
Xolani Dude (36) allegedly struck his sibling, Gift Dube (20), multiple times on the head at Rathanyana Village, Matobo, on 12 June 2025.
What started as a bitter family dispute spiraled into tragedy, as the suspect reportedly blamed Dube for his divorce before launching the deadly assault.
After the attack, Dude turned himself in to authorities, bringing the family feud to a bloody conclusion.
Meanwhile, Karoi police are investigating another gruesome killing after the mutilated body of 64-year-old Boniface Manyonga was discovered dumped on the roadside at Chinyerere Farm.
The victim had suffered deep gashes and multiple stab wounds to the head, leaving investigators searching for answers about the circumstances of his murder.
Authorities are urging the public to provide leads that may uncover suspects as they work to unravel the mystery behind the brutal slaying.
In a statement shared on their official Twitter account, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed both cases, condemning the surge in violent crimes and assuring the public that investigations are in full swing.
