BREAKING: Ruben Amorim Sacked by Manchester United

Manchester United has officially sacked manager Ruben Amorim, according to sources from ESPN.
Amorim’s departure comes after a strained relationship with the club, especially with director of football Jason Wilcox. During a news conference on Friday, he expressed his frustration with the lack of progress on the January transfer front, just before a match against Leeds United.
Following a 1-1 draw at Leeds on Sunday, Amorim made it clear he wanted to be “manager, not the coach” and criticized Wilcox, urging him to “do his job.”
In his 14 months at United, Amorim had a challenging tenure after taking over from Erik ten Hag in November 2024.
He led the team in 63 matches, securing 24 wins, including 15 in the Premier League. Under his guidance, United currently sits sixth in the Premier League table with eight wins in 20 games this season.
Darren Fletcher, the current Under-18s coach, is expected to step in as the interim manager before the team’s upcoming match against Burnley on Wednesday.
