Brazilian Woman Dies After Staff Forgets To Attach Rope During Bridge Jump – A 21-year-old Brazilian woman, Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, tragically lost her life after allegedly being pushed from a 40-metre-high bridge without being properly attached to a safety rope during an adventure activity in Limeira, São Paulo State, Brazil.
The incident occurred on Saturday at the Ponte do Esqueleto (Skeleton Bridge), a popular site for rope-jumping activities. According to police and witness reports, workers responsible for the attraction allegedly failed to secure Maria Eduarda’s safety rope before she was launched from the platform.

Video footage circulating on social media reportedly captured the horrifying moment. In the clip, three instructors are seen carrying Maria Eduarda towards the edge of the bridge before she is pushed off. Moments later, panic erupts as people realise the safety rope was not attached.
Witnesses can be heard shouting, “The rope!” and “Guys, the rope!” as the tragedy unfolded.
Emergency responders from the Fire Department and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) rushed to the scene, but Maria Eduarda was pronounced dead at the site.
Authorities said the fall was from a height of approximately 40 metres.
Police launched an investigation and detained six people linked to the operation of the attraction. Reports indicate that two men allegedly attempted to flee the scene and were later located in a nearby wooded area with the assistance of a police helicopter. The case has since been transferred to Limeira’s 2nd Police District for further investigations.
The workers involved were reportedly wearing clothing associated with the companies Entre Cordas and Ih Voei. Neither company had publicly commented on the incident at the time of reporting.
Hours before the fatal jump, Maria Eduarda had shared photos and videos from the location on social media. One of her final posts showed the bridge and activity wristbands, accompanied by the caption: “Who was the crazy person who let me jump off a bridge???”
According to her social media profiles, Maria Eduarda held qualifications in physical education and sports management and was passionate about outdoor activities and nature.
