Brazen thieves target Chinhoyi homes, steal gold and cash
CHINHOYI – Chinhoyi police are investigating a shocking robbery that occurred on Thursday morning, in which a resident was robbed of 33 grammes of gold, US$200 in cash, two cellphones, and a vehicle by six armed assailants.
The six assailants were allegedly armed with a deadly arsenal, including a pistol, machetes, and batons.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“Chinhoyi Police are investigating a reported robbery incident involving two homesteads in Bvudzijena Village, which occurred on October 31, 2024 at 0200 hours.”
“Six unidentified men, armed with a pistol, machetes and batons broke into a house, assaulting the occupant and making off with 33grams of gold, $200 cash and two cellphones”.
“The suspect fled the first crime scene in the victim’s White Isuzu KB250 registration number AEG 8270 and proceeded to the second victim’s residence where they stole multiple groceries and a cellphone”, he said.
Police have appealed for anyone with information that may assist in identifying the suspects to report at any nearest Police Station.
