Bishop T.D. Jakes Suffers Health Incident During Sunday Service

Church services at the Potter’s House of Dallas were unexpectedly interrupted on Sunday when Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a health incident mid-sermon.

Jakes, a prominent pastor and motivational speaker, was delivering a message about the joys of preaching when the emergency occurred. Eyewitnesses reported that shortly after he expressed his passion for preaching, he fell silent and appeared to have a medical episode.

Video footage of the incident quickly spread across social media, prompting concern among his followers.

“I still love to preach. I’m not tired of it,” said Jakes, 67, to the congregation before the incident. “I miss you.” He went on to share a metaphor about the reciprocal nature of preaching, comparing it to hospital visits where the visitor often leaves feeling uplifted.

As he quoted Psalm 19:14—“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, my redeemer, let them go in peace”—Jakes suddenly stopped speaking and appeared to spasm while seated. Attendees rushed to his aid, and a speaker asked the audience to pray for him as he received help.

Later that day, an update was posted on Jakes’ X account regarding his condition. “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message,” the statement read.

The update assured the community that Jakes is currently “stable and under the care of medical professionals.”

“The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community,” the message concluded. “Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.”

As the situation unfolds, many fans and followers are rallying in support of the beloved bishop, hoping for a swift recovery.
