Benedict XVI Laid To Rest In Vatican Grotto

Remains of Benedict XVI have been buried today in a tomb in the Vatican grotto.

Benedict XVI died at his Vatican residence, aged 95, 10 year after he stood down owing to unstable health.

He was the first pope to resign in six centuries.

He led the Catholic Church for less than eight years until, in 2013, he became the first Pope to resign since Gregory XII in 1415.
