While the AfroGazette has not independently verified their identities, U.S. media reports have named the individuals as Mr. Byron and Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s Chief People Officer. Mr. Byron is reported to be married.
The company’s statement emphasized its commitment to ethical leadership and accountability:
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding.”
Following the viral spread of the footage, Astronomer placed Byron on administrative leave and launched an internal investigation into the nature of the relationship.
In the meantime, the firm’s Chief Product Officer has assumed the role of interim CEO while the board initiates a formal search for a permanent successor.
During the concert, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, commenting on the couple’s sudden retreat from the camera, quipped to the crowd: “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”
The video has since garnered millions of views across social media platforms, sparking widespread discussion about corporate ethics, public image, and workplace relationships.
