Andy Muridzo & ex-wife Mai Keketso drag each other to court, again
Afro-fusion sensation Andy Muridzo is once again making headlines, and not for the right reasons.
Despite attempts to steer clear of controversy, Andy Muridzo found himself in court recently, entangled in a legal matter involving his former wife, Chido Manyange, popularly known as Mai Keketso.
Nature of the Legal Dispute
According to reports from the daily tabloid H-Metro, Muridzo appeared before the Harare Civil Court on Monday in response to an undisclosed issue brought forth by his ex-wife, Mai Keketso. Details regarding their dispute remain unclear, as H-Metro was unable to uncover the specifics behind their fallout which led Mai Keketso to take legal action. Muridzo’s legal representative, however, assured that they would submit a counter-affidavit by the end of the week.
The case was presided over by Magistrate Nyasha Marufu, who decided to postpone the proceedings to November 2 for further deliberation.
This is not the first time that Muridzo has found himself in a legal battle with his estranged wife, Chipo Manyange. Back in 2019, Mai Keketso took Andy Muridzo to court, demanding a monthly child maintenance fee of US$1800. She stated that the money was necessary for the well-being and care of the two minor children she shares with the musician.
Andy Muridzo and Mai Keketso’s relationship has been tumultuous, with previous incidents making headlines. In 2018, Mai Keketso was arrested for assaulting the Delilah hitmaker. The altercation occurred when she unexpectedly confronted her former husband at a residence where he was relaxing with friends. She physically attacked him, even pulling out some of his dreadlocks and damaging his Mercedes Benz vehicle by throwing a brick at its windshield. iHarare
