Akon’s Wife Files for €100 Million Divorce — But Court Finds Only $10,000 in His Account – Global music star Akon is facing a major financial and legal setback after his wife, Tomeka Thiam, filed for divorce following 29 years of marriage, demanding a €100 million settlement.

Court documents reveal that despite his international fame, the “Smack That” singer allegedly has only $10,000 in his personal bank account.

According to The Tribune, much of Akon’s wealth — estimated at over $60 million — appears to be held under his mother’s name, prompting speculation that he may have transferred assets to shield them during the divorce proceedings.

“If the assets are not legally under his control, the divorce settlement could become much more difficult to navigate,” one family law specialist said.

Fans have expressed disbelief online, questioning how one of Africa’s most successful musicians could appear nearly broke.

Akon has yet to issue an official statement regarding the case.
