Age is just a number: 83-year-old cycling legend Wilson Dube pedals to glory
Veteran cyclist Wilson Dube (83) was honored yesterday for his dedication and contributions to cycling at the Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke flag-off ceremony held at Zimplats’ Metallurgical Complex, Selous, marking the culmination of his illustrious 55-year cycling career that has solidified his legacy as a local cycling legend.
Dube’s remarkable legacy was further celebrated as he was appointed Ambassador of the Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke and received a generous gift from Chloride Zimbabwe – a 2kVA solar energy system for his Zvishavane residence.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Dube acknowledged the event organizers and stakeholders for recognizing his remarkable journey and unwavering commitment to the sport.
“I am profoundly grateful to everyone who has recognized my lifelong dedication to cycling, which began on June 17, 1967.”
