In a statement released ahead of Bournemouth’s Premier League clash against Fulham, the club confirmed that the matter is being treated seriously and that the player would not be part of the squad while investigations continue.

“AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back Alex Jiménez,” the club said.

“The club understands the seriousness of the matter, and it is currently being investigated.

“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”

Alex Jiménez came through the ranks at Real Madrid Castilla before moving to Italian giants AC Milan. He later joined Bournemouth on an initial loan deal that included an obligation to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

The allegations have sparked widespread debate online, with many social media users calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.
