63-Year-Old Man Sentenced to 15 Years for R@ping Grade 6 Pupil
A 63-year-old man from Hwange has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of raping a 12-year-old grade 6 student.
The incident occurred on July 25, 2025, around 7 PM, in a home under Chief Nekatambe.
The man entered the girl’s bedroom and forced her into sexual intercourse in exchange for money. He undressed the victim and raped her.
The offender was interrupted by the girl’s brother, who was heard whistling outside and caught them red handed. After the incident, the victim told her mother, leading to the offender’s arrest.
The issue of child sexual abuse is a serious concern in the country. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) is urging community members to report such cases to help eliminate pedophiles from society.
