13-Year-Old Girl R@p€d Twice in One Night After Fleeing Aunt’s Punishment

A 13-year-old girl from Chitungwiza was r@p€d twice in two separate locations within hours after fleeing her aunt’s home to escape punishment for allegedly stealing perfume.
The attacks occurred on October 1 in Manyame Park and Zengeza 5, where she was assaulted by two different men.
Police have launched investigations into the case, which has sparked public outrage and intensified calls for stronger child protection measures.
The minor had allegedly stolen her aunt’s perfume earlier that day and ran away after being threatened with disciplinary action.
She returned home around 8pm but chose not to enter the house after noticing the dogs outside their kennel.
With nowhere to sleep, she headed toward Manyame Park.
While walking, she encountered a man who allegedly dragged her into an abandoned house and r@p€d her without protection.
After the assault, the suspect fled. Disoriented and alone, the girl continued roaming and ended up at Limbani Shops in Zengeza 5.
There, she was approached by two men.
One of them reportedly pulled her into a nearby bush and r@p€d her again.
She spent the rest of the night at the shopping centre, traumatised and alone.
The following morning, a woman found her and escorted her back to her aunt’s house, where she revealed the ordeal.
According to H-Metro, the minor was taken to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for medical examination.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed:
“Police are investigating a r@p€ case involving a minor in Chitungwiza.
“She was escorted to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for medical examination.
“The accused persons were not located.”
No arrests have been made, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
