ZRP Launches Manhunt for Chimanimani Suspect in Attempted Murd£r Case – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched a manhunt for a 30-year-old man, Francis Makuma Magirayano, who is wanted in connection with an attempted murd£r case in Chimanimani.

The incident, which occurred on 18 April 2026, allegedly stems from a domestic dispute involving the suspect and his wife, Mercyline Mahembe (26). According to police, Magirayano is accused of opening fire and injuring three people.

In a statement, the ZRP said, “The suspect allegedly shot his wife multiple times on the cheek, hand and thigh, before turning the firearm on his sister-in-law, whom he shot on the leg.”

A third victim, a shopkeeper at Kopa Business Centre, was also shot during the incident.

“All the victims are currently admitted at a hospital in Chipinge and are receiving medical treatment,” police confirmed.

The suspect is believed to have recently returned from South Africa and was reportedly driving a silver Toyota Fortuner with registration number JV 70 SM GP.

Police have appealed to members of the public for information that may lead to his arrest. “Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts should contact the ZRP National Complaints Desk or report to the nearest police station,” authorities urged.

The ZRP has warned that harbouring a fugitive is a criminal offence and urged the public to cooperate in bringing the suspect to justice.
