ZIMSEC Reschedules June Exams Due to Africa Day Public Holiday

The Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) has made changes to the June 2025 Ordinary and Advanced Level exam timetable, confirming that examinations will commence on Friday, 23 May 2025.
However, there will be no exams on Monday, 26 May, as Zimbabwe will be officially observing Africa Day—which falls on Sunday, 25 May this year.
Originally, students were scheduled to sit for English and Combined Science papers on Monday, 26 May.
With the holiday now affecting that date, ZIMSEC has adjusted the timetable accordingly, ensuring the exams do not clash with the official public holiday.c
According to Pindula News, students are advised to keep track of schedule updates to avoid confusion.
ZIMSEC advises students to check official notices and plan their studies effectively to align with the revised timetable.
Africa Day, commemorated annually on 25 May, recognizes African unity and progress.
In Zimbabwe, public holidays falling on weekends are observed on the following Monday, a national practice that has influenced ZIMSEC’s decision to reschedule the examinations.
Students are encouraged to verify their updated timetables and prepare accordingly to ensure a smooth examination process.
