Zimbabwe Legends to Face South Africa in Botswana’s Clash of Football Icons

Zimbabwe’s football greats are set to compete in the 2025 Clash of Legends, a prestigious four-nation tournament hosted in Botswana that will bring together legendary players from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana and Namibia.
Scheduled for June 21 at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, the tournament will feature Zimbabwe Legends against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana Legends, while Botswana takes on Namibia.
Winners progress to the final, with losing teams playing for third place.
Ahead of the main event, Botswana will also host a special legends match between its national greats and South Africa’s former stars on June 17 at Royal Aria Stadium in Tlokweng.
This additional fixture will allow fans to witness historic rivalries and iconic football moments before the official Clash of Legends tournament begins.
Soccer24 reports that former Zimbabwe midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha will manage the Warriors Legends, bringing his vast experience to the squad.
South Africa’s team will be led by Dikgang Mabalane, while Botswana’s side will be coached by Boitumelo Mafhoko, with Dokkies Schmidt overseeing Namibia’s legends.
Created to honor football legends, the tournament strengthens regional unity through sport. It celebrates Africa’s football heritage, uniting former stars for fans to relive historic moments.
