Zimbabwe is set to chart a bold path toward a smarter, more inclusive economy with the upcoming Smart Zimbabwe Conference & Expo 2025, scheduled for July 17–18 at the Golden Conifer Functions Venue in Harare.
Running under the theme “Smart Solutions, Smarter Economy: Integrating Global ICT Trends for Zimbabwe’s Future,” the conference promises to be a game-changing platform for critical national dialogue on how technology can accelerate economic and social transformation.
Government heavyweights, including Minister of Local Government and Public Works Daniel Garwe and Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Tatenda Mavetera, are expected to headline the event.
They will join leading voices from the private sector, academia, civil society, and development partners.
Speaking ahead of the event, Rufaro Nyadembera, CEO of Zimshop.net and lead organiser, described the conference as a milestone for Zimbabwe’s digital future.

“Smart Zimbabwe 2025 is about breaking barriers and reimagining our collective future,” Nyadembera said.
“By integrating global ICT trends, Zimbabwe can leapfrog traditional development hurdles and unlock massive socio-economic opportunities for all citizens.”
Nyadembera stressed that the event is not just about high-tech exhibitions but about ensuring inclusivity and practical impact.
“We want to make sure digital innovation serves everyone, not just urban centers or big corporates,” he said.
“This is a national platform to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and align across sectors on the future we want.”
The conference will also feature the Smart Zimbabwe Annual Awards, which honour trailblazing individuals and organisations driving digital innovation.
Participants can look forward to practical workshops and live demonstrations on implementing smart solutions in business, agriculture, local government, and daily life.
The event is also expected to provide valuable networking opportunities with investors, tech entrepreneurs, policy-makers, and community leaders.
Nyadembera underscored the importance of collective vision as Zimbabwe pushes toward Vision 2030 and the Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Masterplan.
“Smart Zimbabwe 2025 is not just about gadgets; it’s about solutions that improve livelihoods, power economic growth, and make sure no one is left behind,” he said.
“We want to build an economy where technology transforms lives in every corner of the country.”
As Zimbabwe positions itself for a digital revolution, the Smart Zimbabwe Conference & Expo 2025 is set to play a key role in shaping a future-ready, tech-driven economy.
