Zhombe Man Fatally Attacked With Machete in Beer Dispute

ZHOMBE – A 24-year-old man was fatally attacked with a machete and knife last Saturday at Mkobogwa Business Centre, Zhombe, during a dispute involving opaque beer.
The incident, which occurred around 11:30 PM, has left the Midlands community in shock.
Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the attack and appealed for information.
“The victim, Nqobizitha Mabidli, was walking along a footpath with Noel Sibanda when they were approached by three suspects. The suspects seized one of the beer units they were carrying and in the ensuing altercation, they attacked Mabidli with a machete and knife,” said Inspector Mahoko.
He added that the suspects were identified as Munyaradzi Mtonga, Elmon Mkalalwa and an accomplice known only as Chimbira.
Reports by The Mirror indicate that Mabidli was rushed to Dendera Clinic, Chief Malisa, Zhombe, by a passerby. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Inspector Mahoko further stated, “We urge members of the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of these individuals by contacting their nearest police station.”
Police investigations are ongoing as efforts intensify to locate the suspects.
