Woman Returns from All-Night Prayer and Kills Husband’s Mistress

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is urging the public to avoid violence and seek peaceful resolutions to disputes following a tragic case involving a 27-year-old woman who fatally stabbed her husband’s mistress.

The incident occurred earlier this year when Stacy Mkandhla returned home from an all-night prayer session on February 19, 2024. She discovered her husband in their bed with the now-deceased, who was found partially undressed.

Upset by the sight, Mkandhla initially confronted the victim with her fists before grabbing a kitchen knife. Her husband intervened, taking the knife away and leaving the two women to argue.

However, Mkandhla managed to find another knife and stabbed the victim three times—once in the head, once in the chest, and once in the back. The victim attempted to flee, naked but collapsed outside and later died on the street.

Following the incident, Stacy handed herself to the police and was taken into custody. She was subsequently tried in the High Court in Gweru on murder charges and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
