Woman Manipulates Lover Into Murdering Family of Four

In a chilling tale of betrayal and manipulation, authorities say Nathaniel Huey Jr. fatally shot Alberto Rolon, 38, Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, their two young sons—Adriel, 9, and Diego, 7—and their three dogs on September 16, 2023.The family’s bodies were discovered the next day during a welfare check, sparking a multi-state investigation.
Reports reveal that Zoraida, a coworker of Huey’s at an engineering firm, had been having an affair with him. But this tragic love triangle took a sinister turn when Ermalinda Palomo, allegedly posing as a cartel leader, manipulated Huey into believing that Zoraida was a “mole” plotting against him.
Authorities claim Palomo and Huey meticulously planned the murders, scouting the area, avoiding cameras, and even noting a vacant neighboring house. Two days before the massacre, Palomo convinced Huey to act. After the brutal killings, investigators used a combination of Ring doorbell footage, cell tower data, and traffic cameras to trace Huey’s vehicle as it traveled from Streamwood to Romeoville.
Although Huey initially denied involvement when questioned at his job, police later seized a bag of firearms he had transferred from his car. On September 20, both Huey and Palomo were named as suspects, but they fled to Catoosa, Oklahoma.
A dramatic chase ensued when police confronted them outside a Walmart, ending in a fiery crash after Huey allegedly shot Palomo. Huey was found dead at the scene, while Palomo died later in the hospital.
Despite the case being closed, the brutal deaths of the young family continue to haunt the surviving relatives and investigators. Romeoville Police Chief Brant Hromadka expressed the lasting impact of the murders, saying, “Nothing can justify such a senseless act of violence. Though the case is finalized, closure remains elusive for those left grieving.”
