Woman Finds Out the Alleged Girlfriend of her Husband is his 2nd Wife

A magistrate from the Harare Civil Court, Meenal Naratom, has granted a peace order to Fortunate Manhiri after she alleged that her husband’s girlfriend has been intimate with him in their shared marital bed.

Fortunate, who sought the order against Mutsawashe Chipwanya, expressed her frustration in court, claiming that the couple not only disrupts her peace but also creates distressing noises that her teenage children can hear.

“I want to protect my children from this situation,” Fortunate stated. “Mutsawashe comes to my home with my husband while intoxicated, and they get intimate on my bed. I want her to stay away. I respect that she has a child with my husband, but she has crossed the line.”

In her testimony, Fortunate also accused Mutsawashe of making derogatory remarks about her and threatening her life.

“She has insulted me, saying my mother raised a loose girl, and she has even threatened to poison me. Even though she resides at her former husband’s house, she continues to disturb my peace. This house is mine, and I don’t want any contact with her,” she added.

Mutsawashe responded by denying that they cohabit.

“My husband paid lobola to my family in 2021, but his first wife does not want to accept that they are in a polygamous marriage.

“We live in the same house, and whenever I have my turn with him, she pours water on us while we’re naked. My husband has made it clear that she should go to her father’s home,” she said.

The court’s decision aims to provide Fortunate with the peace she seeks in the midst of this ongoing family dispute.
