Woman Arrested in Brazil for Poisoning Coworker’s Water Bottle Over Promotion

BRAZIL – A 38-year-old woman in Brazil was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly poisoning her coworker’s water bottle.

The incident occurred at a textile factory in Abaida de Goiás, where both women worked.

According to the Goiás Civil Police, the victim had recently received a promotion, which sparked jealousy in the suspect.

CCTV footage captured the suspect mixing a chemical substance into the victim’s water bottle. Shortly after drinking from the bottle, the victim reported feeling a burning sensation in her mouth and sought medical attention.

The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to appear in court soon to face attempted murder charges.
